Arleys Newborn Pics

My wonderful older sister Ashley Schoenfeld (www.milesofmemories.com) took these cute pictures of Arley when she was about 5 days old. She did great! I love all of them! She also made these two birth anouncements.. turned out so cute! Thanks sis! Its crazy though how different Arley looks now, because she is 1 month old now! Time sure flies! She is so cute..

Her Halloween costume..

Love this one, because it looks the most like her.. wide eyed and mouth open!

Halloween 2011

This year for Halloween Arley was only 10 days old! It was so fun to have her here to dress up! And Bronson was Peewee Herman! It turned out pretty cute and funny I think :) I like unusual costumes I guess. But he was a hit! Everyone laughed and loved it. He even knew how to dance like Peewee! It was adorable. He might hate me when he gets older, but I thought he was so cute! We visited my parents and had yummy chili and breadsticks. We do this every year, and its so fun. We went to a few neighbors to trick or treat. Then we went to Taylor's Grandparents in Layton, my Aunt Chalese's in Layton, then to my inlaws in Kaysville. It was so fun to show the kids off. Bronson "only" had a temper tantrum at EVERY house. Ha ha. He was so tired, and still adjusting to baby sister.. But anyways, it was a blast and here are their costumes..

"Peewee Herman", but WAY cuter :)

My lil' monkey..

And here is my parents, and all the grandkids. Mylie was a mermaid, that my sister made herself! And Chloe was a chicken, that my sister also made! Too talented.. but SO cute!!

Arley's Name

Now, her name.. we honestly didn't quite now what we wanted to name her until the hospital, and we saw her. We had a few names picked out, but for some reason I couldn't commit to any of them. I kept thinking about my great grandmas name, Arley. And sure enough in the surgical room, I was over whelmed with the spirit, and the feeling that her name was supposed to be Arley. So, I listened, and we named her Arley! No middle name, just Arley Edwards. I think it has a nice flow to it too. So she shares the name of her great great grandma Arley Lamb Coleman. She actually passed away when my mom was pregnant with me, so I didn't know her personally, but have heard how wonderful of a person she is. She is my moms grandma, and my grandma was actually an only child, due to some miscarriages, and deaths of her siblings. So her and her mother Arley were obviously close, and had a special relationship.

No one knew we were really thinking of naming her Arley, so it was a fun surprise to tell my mom and grandma. My mom started crying immediately. When my Grandma Franklin came to the hospital to visit, she walked in and we asked Bronson to tell Grandma baby sisters name. He said Baby "OLLEY". My grandma of course did not understand. So I told her we decided on Arley. She actually reacted a little different than I expected, she just looked shocked, and said "oh really". Than sort of changed the subject. So I sort of was worried that she was mad or something. Well the very next morning, my first visitor was her. She brought Arley a few special items.. and it meant so much to me. She apologized for her reaction the night before, but told me she cried all night. She hates showing emotions in public or to anyone really. So it was cute, and really special that she was so happy I named her after her mother.

This is Arley as a child on the left, and her older brother on the right. Reminds me of my Arley and Bronson :)
She wrote Arley this sweet letter, that I will keep and give to Arley later. Maybe at her baptism or something.

Grandma and Grandpa went through some of my great grandmas jewelry, and picked this necklace out to give to Arley. I will keep this with the letter and give to her later also. So sweet and so special. The pin that says Arley is about 70 years old. My grandma has one too, and said they were in California and had some vendor make them on the beach. My mom has the Erma one, and now Arley gets the Arley one :)

My cute grandma surprised me by putting the pin on Arley.

These are all when she and my grandpa first found out her name and met Arley..

We are so happy to have Arley in our lives, and have her named after someone so special. I was a little worried it was not a name people would like, but in the end I decided I didn't need to care what others thought. It was cute to me, and special. It has grown on me more and more, and really just fits her now. I can't imagine her with a different name. Who knows, maybe we just started a new trend? :)

She's Here!!

My sweet baby girl Arley is here! Here is my version of the "story". I started having contractions consistently every 7-8 minutes on Thursday Oct 20, 2011. I was supposed to have my c-section on Monday the 24th. Dr.Housel told me though that if my contractions become consistent every 5 minutes to go to the hospital and they will go ahead with the surgery. I waited it out through the LONG night of contractions, and they just became more frequent. I decided to still go to see some of my best friends from growing up. It was either that or sit at home and cry, and be anxious. So I went to the duck pond, chatted, and chased Bronson around. They started to be every 4-6 minutes. So I called Taylor, told him he better leave work and drive home from Salt Lake. I left the park around 12pm. I went to my parents, met Taylor, left Bronson with my Mom and older sister Ashley, and headed to McKay Dee.

Once I got to the hospital and after being monitored, my doctor said I was in full blown labor, and we were off to have the surgery! It was a pretty fast process, minus the stupid painful contractions before I got all numbed up, THANK heavens for modern day medicine!! I could never go natural. Yuck. The C-Section went ALOT smoother than with Bronson, and she was born Oct 21st, 2011 at 3:34 pm. She weighed 7lbs 4 oz, and was 19 inches long. She was beautiful! I was told she had TONS of black hair, got my hopes up a bit.. then once she was all cleaned up I noticed it wasn't TONS.. just a bunch on the bottom, and not too much on top.. grandpa hair, just like Bronson's was :) Still, she was so cute! Healthy as can be too, and that's all I cared about. Pretty weird though that I left the park at 12, and had a daughter by 3:34. Ha ha! Anyways, here are some pictures of her and some family after she was born.. and no they are not in order. Sorry!

Going home from the hospital as a family on Monday the 24th, with big brother Bronson :)

Arley with Gramma Jan and Grandpa Don(Edwards)

Sweet lil' sleepy thing..

Arley with Grammy and Papa (Worthen). Papa went hunting 3 hours away that morning. My mom called him and him and my brother drove ALL the way back just to see her and me! I was SO grateful, I would have really missed my Daddy. My dad is the best dad, and Papa ever! It ended up taking them almost 6 hours to get home due to traffic, and accidents, but they still came, and drove all the way back the next morning! Love them.

Papa and tired Arley..

A very tired and exhausted Uncle Dane, and Papa with Arley.

Bronson 1st meeting his "baby sister" as he now calls her. It was the cutest and most tender moment for me! I sure love my family. Even my cheesy smiling husband :)

So sweet.. I love this.

Aunt Ashley showed up while I was in recovery with Bronson.

Grammy holding Arley for the first time. This is when I told my mom her name. She cried!

Taylor looking at his new daughter. I was a little jealous he was holding her so much, but it was worth it to see this..

Daddy feeding Arley for the first time..

Hello world!!

Gotta love the goopy eye look :)

Healthy baby girl!! We are SO grateful for Arley. She has already been such a blessing, and so sweet. She is a pretty easy going baby, sleeps all day pretty much, and only wakes up once or twice in the night. Bronson is adjusting, every day gets better with him. He is so sweet to his baby sister, and loves to put her binky in, helps hold her bottle, and gives her kisses on her head. Being home all day with two kids is rough at times, but also so enjoyable! I love being a mom, especially to TWO beautiful children!

Well..

I know I am SO behind on blogging, but I am not in the mood to sit here for an hour and upload all my pictures.. so its just gonna have to wait for another few weeks when things settle down..

Anyways, I just wanted to let ya'll know that I am alive. Barely it feels like, but I am here :) I am ALL DONE with work at AFCU.. forever. Crazy right? I think so. I have mixed feelings, but mainly happy ones thats for sure! Just a weird feeling to not have that everyday routine, the friends there, the social life, the professional business world.. but I am really excited to be a mom at home. I just hope I do ok, and Bronson will get used to it, and not get too bored with me! He seems to have way too much fun at the sitters, and has lots of fun kids to play with. Now it will just be me, him, baby girl, and soon to be snow.. wish me luck to entertain this kid all winter! Yikes!

So I thought maybe I would go into labor any day now.. but I have a feeling I'm just gonna hold out til my c-section day on Monday. 5:30 am I have to be there? Who cares. Im SO ready to meet this cute nameless baby! :) And hopefully sometime that day I can choose a name. I hate choosing, there are way too many to choose from. Plus its hard to agree with the hubby. So we will see.. until then, wish me luck! I hurt so bad this week, and cry all the time. I just wanna feel "normal" again. Then again, Im nervous, and don't think I am REALLY ready for a #2.. yikes, but definitely ready to sleep on my belly!! I will post pictures and everything as soon as I can after she comes! YEA!!
